Where Our Information Comes From

Our presentation and website summarize publicly available guidance from OSHA and the State of California. Below are the original sources, each with a short plain-English summary, so you can see the details for yourself.

OSHA (Federal)

OSHA's First-Aid List – 29 CFR 1904.7

OSHA's recordkeeping rule includes a specific list of treatments it considers first aid, such as cleaning and bandaging a cut, butterfly strips, ice or heat, soft wraps, removing a splinter, flushing an eye, and fluids for heat stress. Injuries that need only first aid generally don't need to be recorded on the OSHA injury log.
